Autumn Still Life

First painting in our new home in St. Louis.Getting beck into painting after a summer-long hiatus. I had this antique 7Up bottle and a nicely-shaped twig, and I wanted to focus on the values and textures. Doing it in monochrome kept me from cheating with fancy colors. Guache on masonite board, October 2008.

The Process

Here's a little about my process:

1. You contact me with a potential project

2. I come to potential project site to discuss the possibilities with you, take photos, notes, etc.

3. Depending on the nature of the project, I will come up with a visual preview of the final project (this could take the form of a sketch, photo shop document, fabric/ paint sample, etc.)

*At this point I will also estimate the final cost of the project. Each project is priced on an individual basis. I factor in time, size, medium, level of detail, etc., to estimate a total for each specific project.

4. Once you have approved my plan for the project, I can begin

* Any additional changes or alterations to the project that you would like me to add after it is aproved and begun will be charged at an hourly rate, not included in the original estimate
